Utilizar os retalhos | Using the scraps

O painel que fiz com os retalhos vermelhos que por aqui tinha, serviu para fazer esta bolsa para guardar um disco externo. Podem ver o tutorial de como fazer o painel aqui.

The square I've made using red fabric scraps was used to sew this pocket for an external storage device. You can check the tutorial on how to make the square here.

O começo | The beggining

É o começo de um tapete para o nosso quarto. Estou a usar trapilho branco que a minha mãe mandou de Portugal e a ideia é fazer vários 'naprons' e juntá-los num tapete. Acho que vai ficar giro!

Este é o segundo tapete que faço. O primeiro foi para o quarto dos bebés e podem vê-lo aqui.

This is the beggining of a rug I'm making for our bedroom. I'm using knit yarn that my mom sent from Portugal and the plan is to make several doillies an put them together to make a rug. I think it's going to be cute!

This is the second rug I'm making. The first one was for the babies room and you can take a peek here.

Como fazer tecido | How to make fabric

Esta é mais uma tentativa de utilizar os pedacinhos de tecido que teimo em guardar. Com alguma paciência consegue-se fazer coisas bem giras, como este pedaço de tecido. É só seguir o tutorial. É um bom projeto para quem quer aprender a costurar. O meu resultado final foi um retângulo de 30 x 40. Irá servir para algum projeto futuro.

This is another atempt to use the tiny scraps that I insist on keeping. With some patience you can make some cute things, like this piece of fabric here. Just follow the tutorial. It's a great project for beginners. I ended up with a 30 x 40 rectangle. It will be useful for some future project.

Caderno vintage | Vintage notebook

Fiz este caderno com um carimbo de borracha e proteções na lombada e nos cantos feitas com papel e fita-cola dupla. Se quiserem experimentar fazer um carimbo fácil, só precisam de uma borracha retangular, do molde e de um instrumento que corte a borracha.

I've made this notebook with a stamp made out of rubber and some protections on the corners and the crest with the help of double-sided tape. If you want to try to make an easy stamp, you just need a rectangular shapped rubber, the pattern and some cutting instrument.

Dia da Mãe | Mother's Day

Que todas as mães tenham um dia muito especial. Que "o fio fininho e quase invisível" que liga o coração das mães a cada um dos filhos se fortaleça a cada dia. Este maravilhoso livro é da editora Planeta Tangerina. Podem espreitá-lo aqui.

Ofertas de festa | Party favours

Os nossos pequenos bebés fizeram dois ano na última segunda-feira. Por ser dia de semana, fizemos uma festinha muito simples na praia ao pôr-do-sol. Decidimos fazer a festa em cima da hora e, por isso, os presentes para dar aos miúdos também foram feitos em cima da hora. 

Our tiny babies celebrated their second birthday last monday. It was a school day so we organized a simple party at the beach, watching the sunset. It was a last minute decision so the party favours had to be made quickly.

Fiz estas caixinhas, com um ar de quem traz comida chinesa, em papel craft e carimbei um peixinho que fiz numa borracha. Adoro esta combinação de cores: o craft e o branco! Lá dentro pus chocolates para os maiores e bolachinhas para os mais pequenos.

I've made these boxes, that look like they have chinese food inside, in craft paper and stamped a little fish that I've made using a rubber. I love this color combination: craft and white! Inside the boxes were chocolat candy for the bigger kids and small cookies for the tiny ones.

Organizador de molas | Wooden peg organizer

Uma das possibilidades das molas que decorei na semana passada é fazer um organizador. Basta ter molas e um fio bonito. 

One of the possibilities of the wooden pegs I decorated last week is to make an organizer. You just need some pegs and a nice string.

Para ser mais fácil de meter o fio pela anilha de metal, pus um pouco de fita-cola na ponta do fio. Depois é só colocar as molas todas no fio. Pendura-se na parede e assim têm um organizador!

To make it easier to put the string through the pegs I put some tape around the end of the string. Then you just have to put all the pegs in the string. Hang it on the wall and there you have a nice organizer!

Molas coloridas | Colourful wooden pegs

Que acham da ideia de animar as convencionais molas da roupa? Podem ter destinos diferentes daquele que lhes é comum. Por que não colocar no frigorífico com a ajuda de um magnético? Ou juntar umas quantas num fio para fazer uma grinalda? Colorir molas é simples. É preciso molas, fita-cola dupla, papel bonito, lápis de cor e tesouras.

What do you think about the ideia of giving the conventional wooden pegs a bit of a twist? They can have other purpose besides the traditional one. How about making some magnets for the fridge? Or assemble a few in a string to make a garland? It's easy. You'll need wooden pegs, double-sided tape, some nice paper, color pencils and scissors.

1. Pinta-se os lados da mola.
2.Pega-se na fita e no papel.
3. Cola-se a fita à parte de trás do papel.
4. Tira-se a parte que tapa o outro lado da fita.
5. Cola-se a fita nos lados da mola que não estão pintados.
6. Apara-se o papel que fica a mais e está pronto!

1. Colour the sides of the pegs with the pencils.
2. Get the tape and the paper.
3. Stick one strip of tape onto the back of the paper and press.
4. Peel the tape.
5. Stick the strip to the sides of the peg that have no color.
6. Snip the extra paper and you're done!
